We offer Sitka Blacktail Deer hunt's in unit 8 on Afognak island.

The Sitka Deer is considered it's own species and to have the North American Grand Slam of Deer, you need one. These hunts are one of the funnest hunts we offer. Deer numbers are high and success is near 100%. We do not just ride around in a boat and hope big bucks come to the beach. We hunt where they live and chances of seeing other hunters where we go is very unlikely.

You would fly to Afognak island in a Beaver on floats, set up a nice tent camp, near the beach, in the old growth spruce forest. Once set up, we will get a spike camp together and head up into the mountains, above the spruce tree's and hunt until you've gotten your buck. (on some dates, the deer are lower and spiking out isn't necessary) If a spike camp is needed, your guide will help you carry your gear up into the mountains.

We pride ourselves on taking big bucks only. Besides the price of the hunt, license, tag, half the charter flight (about $500) and we would talk over the option of hunting on Native land which could cost a extra $200.
